Yitong Guo

Yitong Guo has appeared as a soloist at Berlin’s Pierre Boulez Saal, New York’s Lincoln Center, and Beijing Concert Hall. He has studied at the Mozarteum University in Salzburg, the Barenboim-Said Akademie in Berlin, and the Manhattan School of Music in New York. His teachers and mentors include Hartmut Rohde, Thomas Riebl, Patinka Kopec, and Pinchas Zukerman. He has also participated in master classes with Nobuko Imai, Kim Kashkashian, and Antoine Tamestit. In the past several years, Yitong has won the Silver Medal at the 44th Hudson Valley Philharmonic International String Competition in New York and the Young Artist Award from Canada’s National Arts Centre. He has appeared at the Ravinia Festival and Yellow Barn Festival, and participated in the International Musicians Seminar, Prussia Cove, and the Seiji Ozawa International Academy. Since 2020, Yitong has been a viola section member of the Hamburg Philharmonic Orchestra.
