Guohan Tang

Guohan Tang began learning the violin at the age of four. In 2012, he was admitted to the middle school of the Xinghai Conservatory of Music, where he switched to studying the viola under Donglei Hou. Since 2018, he has been studying at the University of the Arts, Berlin with Hartmut Rohde. Throughout his studies, Mr. Tang participated in various music festivals and competitions, such as the Carl Flesch Academy, Tsinandali Music Festival, Oskal Nedbal International Viola Competition, among others. He attended master classes with teachers like Nobuko Imai, Lars Anders Tomter, Antoine Tamestit, Tomas Riebl, Roland Glassl, and more.  

Mr. Tang was a recipient of the Deutschlandstipendium scholarship for three years (2019–2022). In November 2021, he became a member of the Academy of the Deutsche Symphony Orchestra, and in May 2022, he was awarded the Gerd-Bucerius Scholarship by the Deutschen Stiftung Musikleben. In August 2023, Mr. Tang won the Erasmus Scholarship and went to the Norwegian Academy of Music (NMH) as an exchange student to study with Mr. Tomter for one semester. Currently, he is pursuing a master’s degree in Instrumental Soloist under Mr. Rohde at UDK Berlin.
